The Municipal Health Office recently acquired a brand new Dental Bus courtesy of the Department of Health (DOH). The mobile dental facility is intended to be used for the local government’s dental outreach programs.

The air-conditioned dental bus is equipped with a dental bed, a basin (complete with faucet set-up), and compartments for medical equipment and medicines.

Municipal Mayor Erlinda D. Lim said the mobile dental services will also help the local government in its programs, projects and activities that focus on improving the health of young and adult in the municipality. “This will be a big help in bringing dental services in our municipality especially in upland and hard to reach barangays,” Mayor Lim said.

“Many villagers in the upland areas, particularly indigenous people sometimes rely on manual tooth extraction because of the lack of accessible dental services for them. This is health risk that they are facing,” Dr. Ma. Merle V. Eviota, Municipal Health Dentist said.

Meanwhile, Hon. Edna B. Bote, SB Member Chairperson on Health, said the mobile dental bus initiative aims to bring quality dental care into communities where Lupon’s underprivileged residents lived.

“Aside from regular tooth extraction, our dental health team provides dental care education that are lifelong lessons for the residents,” Hon. Bote said.

Dr. Belen P. Larrobis, Municipal Health Officer, said they will deliver dental services such as tooth extractions, oral examination and oral health education to the people who are in the remote villages.

Mayor Erlinda D. Lim personally led the blessing of the dental health bus together with Rev. Fr. Ricardo Siblos of the San Vicente Ferrer Parish, Dra. Belen P. Larrobis, Dra. Ma. Merle V. Eviota and some members of the Sangguniang Bayan together with the Department Heads, was held this morning.
