Mayor Erlinda D. Lim leads this year’s Women’s Month celebration in a gathering attended by over 2,000 members and officers of the local women council, the biggest women’s organization in the Municipality of Lupon. She emphasized that women’s empowerment is one of the priorities of her administration.

The Culmination Program was held on March 15, 2018 at Lupon Gymnasium, jumpstarted with a Eucharistic celebration which was followed by the program proper with the theme: “We Make Change Work for Women”.

The officers of WIN (Women In Nation-Building) were lauded by Mayor Lim for their efforts in organizing women especially those who belong to the marginalized sector. Governor Nelson L. Dayanghirang also attended the event to support Mayor Lim’s advocacy.

This event was highlighted by a Dance Competition participated by 21 barangays, were the Barangay Poblacion Council of Women bagged as the First Placer, Barangay Langka as Second Placer and Barangay Ilangay took the third spot. The winners received cash prizes, while non-winning groups was also given consolation prizes. And more giveaways were distributed for all participating members.

The Mayor on the other hand continues to look after the women’s sector of Lupon, empowering them through giving of livelihood trainings and other endeavors that alleviate poverty.
