Hosted by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), headed by MLGOO Jessica L. Itil, with the presence of Mayor Erlinda D. Lim, a selection of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) representatives to the Local Special Bodies has been conducted this afternoon, 16 September 2019, held at the Sangguniang Bayan Session Hall, Lupon, Davao Oriental.
DILG MC 2019-72 mandates the accreditation of CSOs and selection of representatives to the local special bodies, that includes the Local Development Council, Local Health Board, Local School Board, and the Local Peace and Order Council.
Municipal Local Government Operations Officer (MLGOO) Jessica I. Itil articulated the topic on the importance of Participatory Governance, relevance of Civil Society Organization (CSO) representatives to the local special bodies.
Mayor Lim said CSOs are integral in strengthening the partnership between the community and government. In this way, according to the Mayor, CSOs make participatory governance possible.
It was graced by the presence of Sangguniang Bayan Members, Chairman of the Committee on CSOs, NGOs and POs. The Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator (MPDC) Engr. Minda C. Brasileño was also present who provided technical assistance.
