On Wednesday, Mayor Erlinda D. Lim led officials in the groundbreaking ceremony of the new Lupon Overland Terminal Complex meant to not only improve the public’s commuting experience but also decongest the town proper.
The new Terminal Complex project which is worth P91,858,101.87, will soon to rise on this 10,000 square meters lot along Magdagongdong, National Highway. It will host the buses and UV Express going to and coming from Davao City, Tagum and Mati.
As a component of this project, a Terminal Building will be constructed with floor area of 1,250 square meters.
This Terminal Building is integrated with a ticket booth, an administrative office, maintenance room, comfort room, waiting area with bleachers, 7-bay bus lanes, 4-bay van lanes and 3-bay jeep lanes.
This new overland terminal also comes with 32 units commercial stalls and 81 linear meter livestock display area.
To ensure this new infrastructure’s appropriate sanitation and convenient operation, a 330 linear meter drainage system and 23 cubic meter elevated water tank are also included in the project’s scope.
The contract duration of this project will run up to 360 days starting this day.
Congressman Joel Mayo Z. Almario also graced the occasion together with the local officials and heads of offices.
