The local government of Lupon led by Mayor Erlinda D. Lim recently launched the Electronic Business Permits and Licensing System (eBPLS) which intends to streamline the issuance of business permits and licenses in the LGU in compliance to RA 11032 or Ease of Doing Business Law. The system is a cloud-based software developed by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) that allows end-users to file applications for new permits or to renew them online.

The automation of the BPLS using the eBPLS software is one of the programs being implemented by the DICT, DTI and DILG in making the LGUs to be more business-friendly and competitive. Vice Mayor Santos Q. Alonzo formally welcome all the participants and thank the attendees for coming to witness the launching of the said activity. Department of the Interior and Local Government Officer – Muhammad Rizzah Abutazil praised Lupon officials for its initiative to avail of and implement the e-BPLS provided by the DICT.

DICT Mindanao Cluster 3 Regional Director Alimbzar P. Asum in his virtual message lauded the Lupon LGU under the leadership of Mayor Lim for initiating implementation of the eBPLS.

Municipal Treasurer Mary Jane R. Mantos on her closing remarks said that the eBPLS is a welcome development for the municipality, which expects increased revenue generation with the automation of its business license.

Moreover, Mayor Lim expressed gratitude to the partner agencies for realization of the project. Also present during the launching were DICT MC3 eBPLS Focal Person Engr. Virgil A. Fuentes with his team: Engr. Nevien Chris Cimafranca, Jasper Humprey Perez, and Jason Omac; DTI Representative Sahiridah Tomarocon, Fire Marshal Janine Mamolang, and LGU Department Heads.
