“Fishing, More Fun in Lupon!” was the clear message of the 2nd Lupon Ultralight Fishing Competition held this morning, December 23, 2018 at Port of Lupon.
This year’s leg attracted over 60 anglers who were not just residents of Barangay Poblacion but also those coming from neighboring coastal areas of Lupon.
Lupon Fishing Competition is the kick-off of series of ecotourism projects lined up in the following years by the Municipal Tourism Council Chaired by Hon. Edna B. Bote. This is to promote Port of Lupon as an accessible yet beautiful spot for fishing which is along the town center.
Furthermore, Municipal Councilor Santos Q. Alonzo, Jr. encouraged everyone to start and to continue fishing as a recreational sport. “This is also a good way of understanding and preserving nature,” he said in a statement.
The Fishing Competition in Lupon is a brainchild of Mr. Ferdinand “Boyet” Lim which started two years ago as his town’s contribution in instilling love for nature by conserving our seas.
