The Office of Civil Defense in Region XI (OCD-11) has unveiled the regional evacuation center for District-II in Davao Oriental on Tuesday afternoon.
OCD-11 Regional Officials, together with representatives of other concerned agencies, inspected the facility situated at Barangay Corporacion, Lupon, Davao Oriental.
The construction of durable evacuation center is to ensure that there will be no disruption of classes in the aftermath of calamities.
During the inspection, DPWH Official instructed the project engineer to hasten the completion of the project so it can immediately cater the public when need arises.
The evacuation center includes the 2-Storey Accommodation building, which can cater 33 families or 130 individuals, with prayer room, communication area and storage room, convertible to play area in compliance to the Republic Act 10821 or the “Children’s Emergency Relief and Protection Act.”
Other than the main building, the project involves construction of male and female toilet and bath, generator room, pump room, laundry/drying area, and materials recovery facility (MRF).
