Coastal road project in Lupon, Davao Oriental implemented by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is now for completion, to support the municipality’s tourism industry.
Congressman Joel Mayo Z. Almario has allocated funds for the construction of coastal roads leading to various beach resorts as the new tourist destination. These are (1) from Purok San Roque, Barangay Poblacion to Purok Bundas, Barangay Bagumbayan leading to Diving Site, Wenceslao Resort, Ari Gid Ai Beach Resort, Barangay Bagumbayan and (2) from Purok Aroma, Barangay Poblacion to Barangay Ilangay leading to Ila Deo Beach Resort.
These road projects funded by the Department of Tourism (DOT) under the convergence program will make all travels to declared tourist spots convenient and accessible. Not only will these bring added revenue, these will also increase the tourism potential of the municipality, said Mayor Erlinda D. Lim.
The new road will also provide residents the opportunity to engage in business and livelihood activities with the increase in visitors in the Municipality of Lupon.
