Lupon, Davao Oriental –  The newly re-elected Municipal Mayor Erlinda D. Lim under the new mandate given to her by the people of Lupon during the recent election renewed her commitment in bringing the municipality onward for greater development.

In her State of the Municipal Address, Mayor Lim was assuring the constituents of Lupon that she will maintain the momentum of public service particularly in the aspects of social services, education, infrastructure projects, health, peace and order. “Ang kakusog sa atong pagpaningkamot aron kab-uton ang atong mga pangandoy ug damgo ato gayud ipadayon aron ang atong lungsod mahimong ganghaan (gateway) ngadto sa kinatibuk-ang probinsya pinaagi sa pag-abli sa rota gikan sa Lupon padulong sa Davao pinaagi sa fastcraft,” Lim explained. It was said that the new seaport upon full operation will serve as a means by which the local economic growth will propel.

Another top priority project that the mayor assured is the construction of a 37-kilometer By-Pass Road that connects Macangao to Don Mariano providing direct access to the 3 barangays, namely: Don Mariano Marcos, Calapagan and Marayag – all are parts of the municipality that desired to transport their products/goods to Lupon Poblacion instead of passing through the City of Mati which consumed much time, energy and efforts. This, indeed, is a welcome of the Lim-Alonzo administration addressing the long-time concern of the motorist-farmers and businessmen, observers said.

On the other hand, the mayor sticks to her commitment of relocating the government offices to the new municipal hall along the national highway for better public access and convenience. Along with these major projects of the present administration are the on-going construction of overland transport terminal (also along the national highway) and the new gymnasium just near to the new government center: Lim further explained that such named projects constitute the whole preparation for the anticipated soon urbanization of the Municipality of Lupon. Because of these challenges at hand, the lady mayor urges her constituents to seriously join her efforts in realizing the corporate aspirations.

In that address, Lim did not fail to have given thanks to the electorates who voted straight for the bets identified with Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP) resultign to 10-0 election results as reported. (The Mindanao Inquirer)
