Seeing the massive economic growth potential of Lupon, the Department of Trade and Industry – Davao Oriental Field Office offers assistance in the formation of a business organization in Lupon.
DTI Provincial Director Jose P. Calub said there is need for the Lupon-based businesses to create a group that will serve as their voice as growth and development is going towards the Gulf area in Davao Oriental.
DTI is working closely with the Lupon local government on the creation of its own business chamber.
Mayor Erlinda D. Lim and DTI officials have already met with Lupon business prime movers to accelerate the creation of Lupon Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
An organizational meeting was conducted on May 19, 2017 at the Negosyo Center, Lupon, Davao Oriental with LGU personnel, and the DTI assisted them through the process of forming the group with the following set of interim officers: Julius Sobrecary as President, Jennifer Lee – Vice President, Maribel Corbeta – Secretary, Marie Ann Parreño – Treasurer, Jocelyn Montes – Auditor, Ricardo Mejos – Bus. Manager, and Hernando Alimbon – PIO.
The purpose of the meeting is to re-organize and revitalize the Chamber of Commerce in Lupon and to represent the private sector, promoting business and enhancing the quality of life in the community.
The meeting ended with a vote of thanks from the chair to the participants.
