The Municipality of Lupon, Davao Oriental passed the Seal of Good Local Governance Award for the third year in a row according to an advisory posted on the website of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), the four localities were the only recipients of the award in Davao Oriental this year, namely: Banaybanay, Lupon, San Isidro and Governor Generoso, all in District-2.

The Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) symbolizes integrity and good performance through continuing governance reform and sustained local development. It is an emerging and progressive assessment system to give distinction to remarkable local government performance across several areas.

For 2018, the SGLG elevates the assessment criteria from “4+1” to “ALL-IN”. With this, the LGUs must pass all areas of: (1) Financial Administration; (2) Disaster Preparedness; (3) Social Protection; (4) Peace and Order; (5) Business-Friendliness and Competitiveness; (6) Environmental Management ; and (7) Tourism, Culture and the Arts.

Awardees of the SGLG are eligible to access the Performance Challenge Fund (PCF) to finance local development initiatives in furtherance of national goals and strategic thrusts.

Congratulations to all LGU Departments and locally-based National Agencies!!!
